Mannequin of Time
Mannequin of Time
Mannequin of Time is a puzzle adventure game, in which you use a unique ability to make your way out of a dungeon.
Both keyboard and gamepad controls are supported!
This game was created during two weeks as a submission for Adventure Jam 2023.
If you ever get stuck, I recommend watching the embedded video to see a solution.
Warning: this game includes violence and death.

Ah, the controls, my old nemesis - we meet again.
My biggest struggle with this game were actually the controls. They're very responsive, but the key mapping kept throwing me off. I don't know why, but using WASD for movement and spacebar for jumping never clicks for me. And I really missed a key to progress the dialogue. Other than that, absolutely no complaints.
Such a fun game! Really polished. It's obvious that a lot of thought went into it. The puzzles are fun, the learning curve is nice. It never gets fiendishly difficult, but it's not mind-numbingly boring either. Having the mannequin is a clever mechanic and it's fun to play around with. I love that it's climbable. Graphics look great and the music is fitting. The story may not be something to write home about, but that's exactly what I want from this kind of game. It sets the mood perfectly without overstaying its welcome. Oh, and I was amused by the enemy you-know-where. :)
Overall, a really well-designed game. Fun!
Thank you for your feedback!
This is a very good game ! I really like the art style, the story and the mechanics !
I just have to point out that at some point I soft locked (I was between between the two doors in the screenshot - edit: oops, can't see screenshot ?), though I managed to get out by clipping through the ceiling using the mannequin ;).
Thank you! Glad that you liked it.
Could I ask you which level you were stuck in by referring to a timestamp in the embedded video? In many puzzles, I have intentionally made the player locked between two doors if they make a mistake. All you need to do then is to open the menu and restart the level.
The game has some clipping issues...
Ooohh ! Wasn't aware of the restart button ^^'. Thankfully I didn't - really - need it !
It was the level at 4:00 in the video, probably the one where being stuck between two doors is intentional !
Yea, I feel like with the mannequin becoming solid only when it's recorded part ends, it is impossible not to have clipping issues.. However, I was surprised at how difficult it was to clip through the ceiling, and couldn't figure out a way to clip through walls. You did a nice job with that !
I should have been more clear that a reset button existed haha...
Yes, getting stuck in that level is intentional.
Thank you for your kind words!
This has some really enjoyable puzzles. I love the art and the ambiance of the music.
Thank you!
